The Center for Developmental Science (CDS) at William Paterson University, under the direction of Dr. Megan Conrad, focuses on the role of informal learning experiences (parent-child interaction, media interactions, visits to zoos and museums, etc.) in children’s early cognitive development.

Undergraduate Research Assistants participate in research at a number of levels, including data collection with both adults and children as well as transcribing and coding behavioral data.  Data collection takes place in a variety of on campus and off campus locations, such as local preschools and daycares, museums, or zoos. Students gain valuable experience relevant to a range of careers as well as preparation for graduate school
